Dyslexia Screener

Screeners & Supports District 742 DOES Provide:

Characteristics of Dyslexia Screener

 

THIS IS NOT A DIAGNOSIS

Parents can request a free “Characteristics of Dyslexia” screener from your child’s school.

Students who are screened for characteristics of dyslexia, and exhibit characteristics of dyslexia, may qualify for support without an outside dyslexia profile or dyslexia diagnosis report. 

***Parents may choose to pursue an outside agency for consultation; however, we recommend starting with your child’s school and request the Characteristics of Dyslexia District 742 screener.

Profile of Dyslexia:

 

THIS IS NOT A DIAGNOSIS

This includes a dyslexia characteristic screener, plus further assessments from an outside agency.

 

Typically cost between $800.00 - $2,000.00

A Dyslexia Consultant, Dyslexia Screener, or Dyslexia Specialist can write a report that shows if a student has characteristics that fit the profile of dyslexia.  

 

Dyslexia Diagnosis:

 

THIS IS A DIAGNOSIS

This includes dyslexia characteristics screening, or dyslexia profile screening, plus intelligence assessments, and other standardized assessments.

 

Typical cost between $1,000.00 - $3,000.00

Only a Neuropsychologist or a Licensed Psychologist can give a comprehensive evaluation and diagnose dyslexia.

***Provide the above information to your child’s school district as your child MAY qualify for support or services. Please partner with your child’s school to discuss the Continuum of Support for Dyslexia.
